Bernice Jane Riley

Casper, Wyoming / September 28, 1929-January 3, 2018


Bernice Jane Terrell Riley, born September 28, 1929 on a farm southeast of Torrington, Wyoming, passed on January 3, 2018. She was the 12th child of George Terrell and Carrie Jane Bucknole-Terrell.


She was married to her beloved husband, Robert Edward Riley, on February 6, 1954 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.


Bernice and Bob moved to Casper in 1954. Bernice continued to live in Casper after Bob's passing until 2015, when she moved to Cheyenne to be closer to her daughter Diane and family.


Bernice was an active member of First Christian Church of Casper, Wyoming for over 60 years. She was active in CWF and held many positions, including President. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma PHI sorority.


She was a telephone operator, working at the hospital and then for several phone companies. She was also a long time Avon Lady, and was awarded numerous times over her 30 years with the company.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sisters, Jessie, Leona, Vera, Uva, Inez, and Chloa; and brothers, Glen, Elvin, Hubert, Marvin, Raymond, and Dale.


She is survived by her son, Charles E. Riley (Katherine); grandsons, Dylan and Ian; and her daughter, Diane A. Riley-Good (David); granddaughter, Jillian M. Good; great-grandsons, Ethan and Eli Currie; grandson, Jacob M. Good (Cynthia); great-granddaughter, Sophia; and great-grandson, Sebastian.


Bernice was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a good friend to many. She is honored and remembered for her love of family and caring of friends. She will be greatly missed and is now with her Lord in Heaven.


Her memorial will be held Friday, May 18, at 10:00 AM at First Christian Church, 520 CY Avenue, Casper, Wyoming with graveside services for her and her beloved husband, Bob, at 3:30 PM at the Torrington Cemetery, 436 East 22nd Ave., Torrington, Wyoming.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church.
