Maddy Waters of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Beloved daughter of Edward A. Waters of Fairfax, VA; loving sister of Dianne (John) Isaacson of Hancock, VT, Michael A. (Barbara) Waters of Atlanta, GA, Kathleen (Kurt Lewis) Waters of Oak Hill, VA, James E. (Veronica) Waters of Clifton, VA and John L. Waters of Annandale, VA; adoring aunt of Kecia, Jesse, Anna, Lonn, Aileen, Ross, Collin, Erin, Erik, Raleigh and Lauren.

A graduate of University of Virginia (UVA), Maddy worked as a financial analyst for the Department of Defense. She was a Tall Ship sailor, art patron, world class bocce ball player, and beach enthusiast. Maddy enriched the lives of so many with her generosity and huge heart; she will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Fair winds, dear Maddy.

A Memorial Service will be held on November 12, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Maddy's memory to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the Madeline Waters Scholarship Fund at the Ocean Classroom Foundation (now defunct).
