BRYANT - Elisha Smith Jr., 73, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2006.

He was a lifelong resident of Bryant and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Bernice Smith; parents, Elisha Smith Sr. and Ida Smith; granddaughter, Denise Smith.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Billy Gilliam, of Bryant.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Jo and Ann Smith, of Bryant, Charles and Sandy Smith, of Dalton, Rev. Tommy and Cindy Smith, of Higdon, Ala.; one sister, Mary Louis Atkins; one brother, Howard Smith, both of Bryant; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services 1 p.m. EDT Friday in the chapel with the Rev. Ronny White and the Rev. Jimmy Hixon officiating.

Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

Visitation 11 a.m.-9 p.m. today, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. EDT Friday.
