Glenda Jean (Lady) Norton, native resident of Fairfax, Oklahoma entered into heaven on the morning of April 5, 2018 at her home in Neosho, Missouri, where she lived with her daughter. Affectionately known by family and friends as “Jean”, she was 90 years of age.

She was born on November 9, 1927 in the Sunny Slope area of Ralston, OK the daughter of Judson M. and Sarah Ellen (Grote) Lady. Growing up in the area, she attended Ralston schools and graduated from Ralston High School in 1946.

Jean was an excellent waitress for over 50 years with her last and longest employment at the Roller Inn Café, the area people loved for her to wait on them. She was well loved by the community, family and friends and her two dogs, Petey and Angel. Jean was an avid reader and loved the Ralston First Baptist Church as well as Fellowship Baptist Church in Neosho and loved sharing her faith.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Susie Renfro of the home in Neosho, Missouri; her niece, Ginger Gray; her grandchildren, Mike Roberts and Shawana, Staci Bergman and David, Tiffany Burch and Eric, Kenny Harp, and James Harp. Jean had 22 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly (Harp) Thurber; her son, Raymond (Sonny) Harp; one grandson, John Thurber; her parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Graveside services: Monday, April 9 at the Ralston Riverside Cemetery with Lewis Bernard, pastor of Full Gospel Assembly, Fairfax, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.
