Graveside services for Shirley Elliott Cosby, 80, of Emory, are scheduled for 11 am Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at the Creagleville Cemetery in Grand Saline, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
Mrs. Cosby passed away April 13, 2018 in Tyler. She was born January 31, 1938 in Tyler, TX to Bruce Robert and Kinnie Viola Jones Lewis.
Shirley was an accomplished poet winning multiple state and national awards at the State and National Poetry Federation Societies. She retired from Bonar Packaging after working in the field of Human Resources. Shirley was a Methodist by faith. Most importantly, she was a cherished wife, mother and Gram.
Mrs. Cosby is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Monica Elliott Murphy; sister, Barbara McKnight; and brother, Robert Lewis.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert Cosby of Emory; daughter, Traci Elliott Nelson and her husband, Steve, of Fort Worth; two grandchildren: Michael Cason Nelson and Anna Leigh Nelson; and a son-in-law, William David Murphy and his wife, Victoria, of Tyler.
