Early Life: Walter was born October 27, 1940, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the son of Acilio and Elza Dias Fonseca e Silva.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: He immigrated to the United States in 1967, where he met his love, Joyce Cox. On April 18, 1970, they married in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were recently sealed for time and all eternity in the Provo City Center Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 18, 2016. He was a pipefitter by trade, but his passion was woodworking, especially his handmade fretwork personalized clocks. He loved to volunteer and spend his Wednesdays at the LDS temple baptistry. His hobby was fishing, watching motorcycle/car races, soccer and supporting his grandchildren in everything they did. Walter Carlos da Fonseca e Silva, of Provo, Utah, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2018. He was 77.
Survived By: His wife, Joyce; two children: Paul (Mary Miner) Fonseca e Silva and Lisa (Todd) Eppley; seven grandchildren: Geoffrey (Moira) Eppley, Mikel (Kalicia) Fonseca e Silva, Austin Fonseca e Silva, Christopher Eppley, Allyson Fonseca e Silva, Nathan Eppley Kyle Fonseca e Silva; one great-grandson, Maverik Fonseca e Silva; and brother, Luiz Fonseca e Silva.
Preceded In Death By: His parents; brothers, Gerson and Acilio “Charles” Fonseca e Silva.
