Clyde Sofie was the son of Tony G. Sofie and Fannie Harrington. His paternal grandparents were George Sofie and Christina Scaringi. Clyde's maternal grandparents were John D. Harrington and Emmogene Hake. He married Virginia Lee Starns on 27 May 1990 and divorced on 18 May 2001. Virginia was the daughter of Robert E. Starns and Florence Miller.

Clyde was graduated from Sequim High School in 1950 and entered the United States Navy on 13 June 1950. He was discharged in San Diego, California on 2 April 1954. Clyde served on the Hospital Ship Haven in Korea.

After his military service Clyde attended Northwest Bible College in Seattle. He was the Pastor of the Mineral Assembly of God Church in Mineral, Washington and of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Ashford, Washington.

Clyde died of natural causes at his home in Ashford, Washington.

"Clyde Anthony Sofie, 87, a longtime resident of Pierce and Lewis Counties, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018. Clyde was born on December 15, 1930 to Tony G. and Fannie Sofie in Port Angeles and raised in Sequim.

After high school graduation, Clyde joined the Navy, serving for four years. He then attended Northwest Bible School for three years. Clyde pastored in Mineral, WA for 20 years and also worked for Mutual Materials until their closure in 1990.

He married Virginia Sigo in 1990, and in 1992 they started a church in their home in Ashford. The church remained open until Clyde's death. Clyde was quick to help others doing his best to practice living his faith. He is survived by his former wife and friend, Virginia Sofie, brothers Gene, Elvin, and Harold and sister Antonia Yvonne as well as his step children, Jeannie, Susan, Karen, Janette, Steve, Dan and Dewey.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, Tony G. and Fannie Sofie and brother Stanley."
