Floyd L. Anderson, III, age 74 of Powder Springs, GA, “passed on to a New City called Glory” April 9. 2018. He was born on April 20, 1943 in Norton, KS to the late Darlene (Stalder) Anderson and Floyd L. Anderson, Jr., both of Great Bend KS. Floyd graduated from Atwood Community High School, Atwood KS and attended Fort Hays State College, Hays KS, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon for three years. He left college to join the Navy. Floyd served at Naval Air Station, Saufley Field, Pensacola, FL from February 1965 to December 1968. Later he attended Pensacola Junior College, Pensacola FL, to prepare for entry into University. He received Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science at the University of West Florida in Pensacola FL, in 1972. Floyd was employed at Hygeia Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Pensacola FL, as Night Computer Operator and then Computer Programmer from 1970-1974. He then went to Citadel Cement Corp. in Atlanta GA, as Computer Programmer/Analyst from 1974-1978. Rayloc Corp., Div. of Genuine Parts Co. in Atlanta GA, was his last place of employment, where he was a Data Processing Manager from 1978-2004. His Short and Long-Term Disability carried him to his retirement from Rayloc in 2007. He was a member of West Ridge Church, Dallas GA from 2005-2018, former member of First Baptist Church, Woodstock GA from 1986-2005, where he sang in the Choir, taught Sunday School, served with his wife, Joyce, on the Banquet Serving Committee.

Floyd is survived by, Wife, Joyce Goeddeke Anderson, of Powder Springs; Daughter, Cynthia and husband Glenn Pannell, of Powder Springs; Son, Floyd Anderson, IV, and wife Jill of Canton; Step-Son, Alexander True and wife Brandi of Powder Springs; Step-Daughter, Tara (True) and husband C. Chad Duke of Dallas; Grandchildren, Isabella Pannell, Benjamin Anderson; Step-Grandchildren, Tyler True, Georgia Duke, Scarlett Duke, Bear Duke, Jax Duke; Sisters, Karen and husband Paul Felzien, and Judy Anderson of Topeka, KS; Sheryl and husband Russ Burhenn of Bella Vista, AR; Several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

When Floyd was more able, he and Joyce enjoyed hiking in the N. Georgia Mountains and biking on the Silver Comet Trail (a former R/R path) near their home and sightseeing on various driving trips. Floyd also was engaged in HO scale model trains, and painting and hanging wooden birdhouses. He enjoyed being in the presence of his grand/step-children and was thankful that they lived nearby.
