Lambertus died suddenly in the Catholic Church in Teeswater on All Saints' Day. The deceased, who was in his 82nd year, belonged to the band of pioneeers who helped clear Brant. Born in Waterloo county, near St. Agatha, he farmed for a time near Bamberg and moved up to the South Line, near Walkerton. Fourteen years ago he purchased the Vendome Hotel at Teeswater. The deceased was twice married, his first wife being Louisa Rumig of Waterloo. Two sons Joseph of Toronto and John G. of Walkerton, survive this union. Five years later, Mr. Lambertus was married to Grotellie[Natalia] Dehler of Waterloo, who survives with a family of three sons and three daughters."
