After a brief illness, on Monday, January 31, 1983, at the St Boniface Hospital, Marguerite Dondo, aged 76 years, of 185 Smith St.
Marguerite was the first child born of pioneer parents, who immigrated from France and settled in the St. Claude area in 1905. After marrying Joseph In 1928, they resided in Fisher Branch and in 1941 moved to Winnipeg. She was an active member of the Age and Opportunity Centre, 185 Smith St.; sang in the Senior Citizens Choir; Ladies Auxiliary of Imperial Veterans Branch.
Mrs Dondo leaves to cherish her memory five daughters and four sons and their families, twenty-two grand-children, six great-grandchildren, three sisters and their families, two brothers and their familes, numerous nieces, nephews, relative, and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, parents, and two brothers, Rene and Andre Rebiffe and sister Marie.
Prayers will be said 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 3 at St. Mary's Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Ave., with Msgr. R. Larrabee officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association (Manitoba Division), 330 Edmonton St.
Korban Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
