Vida Agnes (Selan) Decker passed away July 28, 2017, in Chehalis, Wash. She was born June 8, 1923, in Neola, Utah, to Anton and Mary (Blatnik) Selan. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Grand Junction, Colo., where she lived until 1945. Vida graduated from Grand Junction High School and obtained a home economics degree from Mesa Junior College. She married Floyd Decker Dec. 4, 1945, in Steamboat Springs, Colo. They moved between Colorado and Washington before settling in Onalaska in 1967, where they began the Myvida Farms dairy. Vida was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Ladies Auxiliary, Lewis County Diary Wives, the Silver Creek Grange and Women Working Together. She was an avid gardener (her flowers were spectacular even from the air), proficient in all forms of sewing, loved solving puzzles, was handy in all crafts and was a prolific letter writer and card sender, as she never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; and daughter, Donna. Vida is survived by daughters, Joan DeMoss, Claudia Blankenship and Cyndy (John) Jacoby; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was the last of her siblings, which consisted of four brothers and six sisters. She will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor, her uncanny ability to never lose a card or board game, her traditional Slovenian cooking, her excitement when sharing her many handmade endeavors, and her incredible imaginative culinary creations like her version of candied popcorn, and other talents too numerous to mention.

Rest in Peace, Mom. You deserve it!
