He served in WWII, in the cavalry, stationed in the Philippines. He was also a Golden Glove boxer while in the Army.
Floyd was a slaugherhouse butcher and later a herdsman at Smith Bros. Dairy in Kent. He was also a former dairy farmer and belonged to the WA Dairy Federation, various Holstein clubs, and was a member of VFW Post 3429 of Toledo, WA.
Floyd was a former commissioner for the Salkum Fire Dept., a 4H leader, a Soil Conservation committee member and belonged to the Silver Creek Grange.
He was married to Vida A. (Selan), Onalaska, on Dec. 4, 1945, who survives at the family home.
He was predeceased by his brothers Leo, Nathan, Harold, Lyle, and Dale; and sisters Shirley DeWitt and Edith Decker.
Floyd is survived by daughters Joan DeMoss and husband David of Olympia; Donna Decker, Chehalis; Claudia Blankenship, Chandler, AZ; Cyndy Jacoby and husband John, Onalaska; a brother, Myrl; and sister, Helen; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
