The burial of Theresa's ashes will be held after the funeral service Saturday. Following the burial, the family would like to invite everyone to the Christiansburg United Methodist Church for a meal and time of sharing. The church is just down the road from the cemetery in Brown County.
Teresa Jane James, 69, of Columbus, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Friday March 30, 2018, at her home.
Teresa was born February 16, 1949 in Seymour, the daughter of Robert Wendel Tabor and Jane Delores Persinger Tabor. She married Dirk James June 28, 1986 and he survives.
Teresa was a 1967graduate of Brownstown Central High School, and graduated with an Associates Degree from Sullivan College in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a long time member of East Columbus United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. She retired in 2001 as Administrator of the Quest Program at Cummins Engine Company after 30 years of service.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday April 8, 2018 at the East Columbus United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Aigner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Sunday at the church. Burial will be at Christiansburg Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Teresa to the East Columbus United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, daughters, Heather Brooke Gibson of Indianapolis, Kryston Eckelbarger of Wabash Indiana and Kelli (Elise Lindborg) Henderson of Seattle, Washington and a son Kent (Julie) Henderson of Wabash, Indiana; sister, Carrie Margaret Tabor of Indianapolis; brother Timothy (Lori) Tabor of Brownstown; grandchildren, Carli Henderson, Cody Henderson, Emily Eckelbarger, Eryn Eckelbarger and Evan Eckelbarger; a niece Morgan Tabor and a nephew Jonathon Tabor.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
