Robert Wendell Tabor
Robert Wendell Tabor died Saturday, August 31, 1996, at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was 71.

Mr. Tabor was born October 10, 1924, in Brown County to John Ross and Lena Tabor.
He and Jane Persinger were married July 31, 1948. She survives. Mr. Tabor retired from Arvin in Columbus after working as a service technician for 43 years.

He had been a Pershing Township Trustee for eight years, a current Advisory board member for Pershing Township, and a member of the Century Club at Arvins Industries.

He was also a trustee at Freetown United Methodist Church, where he served as chairman of the administrative board and also as a lay leader and Sunday school superintendent.

Other survivors include a son, Tim Tabor of Freetown; two daughters, Teresa James of Columbus and Carrie Tabor of Freetown; a brother, Fletcher Tabor of Brownstown; a sister, Thelma Wilkerson of Brown County; three grandchildren; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Mr. Tabor was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and John Allen Tabor.

Reverend Duane Loos will conduct a service today, September 4, at 10 a.m. at the Freetown United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Christiansburg Cemetery in Brown County.
