George J. Casey passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Russellville Nursing Center in Russellville, AR. He was born on May 16, 1927 to Clarence and Cora Adams Casey.
After attending Iberia Elementary School and the Iberia Academy Jr. College, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri in 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy before completing college.
He worked at Cox Medical Centers in Springfield as their CFO for 39 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a 32nd Degree Member of the Joplin Scottish Rite and Valley of Joplin. He was a 50 year Mason at the Gate of the Temple in Springfield, MO.
In 1949 he was united in marriage to Omega McKee, daughter of Menzo and Ada McKee, Iberia, MO. They celebrated 54 years of marriage until Omega’s death, March 25, 2003.
He was a member and a deacon at University Heights Baptist Church in Springfield for over 60 years.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Omega; an infant sister; sister and brother-in-law, Walt and Martha Bunge, and sister and brother-in-law Dr. L.A. and Juanita Taylor, Jr.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Butch and Janie Rose; daughter, Cindy Casey; grandson, Casey Slentz; great-granddaughter, Arieana Slentz.
