Barbara Small, age 86, passed away at 11:21 AM, Sunday, April 1, 2018 at UnityPoint Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Barbara was born January 27, 1932 in Peoria, IL., a daughter to Joseph and Lucille (Mrak) Ksycki. She married Melvin Small on April 14, 1956 in Peoria. He preceded her in death October 26, 2006.
She is survived by four children; Karen Small, Steve (Julie) Small, Patricia Small, and Teresa Small and three grandchildren; Scott, Jeffrey and Sarah. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Joseph.
Barbara was a long-time member of St. Philomena Catholic Church and served as head lunch lady at the grade school for 10 years, from 1969 – 1979.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff at Comfort Keepers and UnityPoint Proctor Hospital ICU nursing staff for their loving care for our mom.
A visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. Philomena Catholic Church with a half hour prior visitation. Fr. David Richardson will officiate and entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to St. Philomena Catholic Grade School.
