Greg was born April 19, 1958 in South Bend, to Henry and Mary (Anderson) Ford; they survive along with his children, Gregory Lee (Jennifer Clark) Ford, Jr. of South Bend and Kelly M. Ford of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Alaina Bell-Clark, Jaden Lilly, and Cameron Ford; and his sister, Juilann M. Ford of New Carlisle. Greg was preceded in death by his brother, James Henry Ford, Jr.
Greg was a dedicated coach and former president of Maurice Matthy's Little League. He was involved with the Michiana Mustang Club and a local pool league. He and his brother worked by their father's side at Ford's Western Body Shop, sharing a passion for Mustang restoration. Upon his dad's retirement, he worked for the City of South Bend's Body Shop and ABC Bus Company. Greg was an avid Notre Dame football, Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, and loved NASCAR racing and his dogs. He enjoyed his garden, selling & trading at swap meets, and was a talented wood worker. Most of all Greg enjoyed his grandchildren; they were the joy of his world and light of his life. He was a devoted father and grandfather who never missed an event, especially little league games in which his children and grandchildren were involved.
Visitation for Greg will be 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday, March 31, 2018 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00 am Monday, April 2, 2018 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery.
