NEW CARLISLE - James "Jimmy" Henry Ford Jr., age 52, was born August 5, 1960, in South Bend, Indiana. He was a lifelong resident of New Carlisle, Indiana. Jim is survived by his parents, James (Henry) and Mary Ford of New Carlisle; brother, Greg Ford of South Bend, IN; sister, Juilann Ford of New Carlisle; niece, Kelly Ford, and nephew, Greg Ford (Jen Clark), both of South Bend; great-nephew, Cameron James Ford of South Bend; and his very special "little buddy," Jaclyn Busfield of LaPorte, IN.
Also surviving are his uncles, Robert Anderson of New Carlisle, Bill Anderson (Laura Plonka) of South Bend, John Anderson (Deedee) of Peach Tree City, GA, Jim Anderson of Winter Haven, FL, Vernon (Nottie) Ford and Hubert (Dee) Ford, both of Savannah, TN; aunts, Rosella Dundore of Kalamazoo, MI, Pat Showalter of Haysville, KS, Romidee (Marion) Hall of Lutts, TN, Sue Dodd of Savannah, TN, and Naomi (Johann) Pfeffer of Toano, VA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Connie and Lon Ford, John and Elva Anderson; aunts, Shirley Anderson, Nancy Barnes, Net Qualls; and uncles, Carl Ford, J.P. Ford and Mike Anderson.
Jim leaves behind many cousins and friends. Jim was a 1979 graduate of New Prairie High School and always cheered on the Cougars. He was an avid Notre Dame fan, loved sports, particularly NASCAR racing and football. After high school he worked on the Stewart Racing team and traveled across the United States to drag racing events. He was a talented mechanic and loved Ford Mustangs. Jimmy was always willing to lend a hand to a friend in need. Jim was employed in maintenance at Claeys Candy in South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m., E.S.T. Friday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00, E.S.T., Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, in the funeral home.

Burial will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery.
