Claudia Jean Butterfield Rose
1956 - 2018

Early Life: Claudia was born March 20, 1956, to George Jefferson "Jeff" Butterfield Jr. and Mamie "Alena" Calton Butterfield, of Cedar Fort, Utah.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: Claudia spent her life serving those around her. Whether it was in the home, at church, in the classroom, or in the grocery store, she sought to help lift others up. She was a friend to everyone she came across and could start a conversation with anyone on the street. She loved everyone the most and made each person feel like they were at the top of the world. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Claudia was active in various callings throughout her life, which include serving as an LDS missionary in the Sweden Stockholm Mission. She has served as the Relief Society president, as a counselor in the Relief Society presidency, as a Sunday School teacher, as a Primary chorister, and she viewed her calling as a visiting teacher as one of the most important callings. When she learned she had cancer, her first comment was that she hadn’t done her visiting teaching for the month. Claudia attended school at Rick’s College and Brigham Young University where she received a bachelor’s degree in education. She taught school in Sanpete County, at Jim Bridger Elementary and Cedar Valley Elementary. She made many friends in her years of teaching and influenced countless children. She married David Eugene Rose in the Manti Utah LDS Temple on April 11, 1992, where she gained an immediate family with Dave’s three children: Elle, Nick and Mason. They later had three more girls: Kailee, Kaitlyn and Kaisha. Her family was the joy of her life. Claudia Jean Butterfield Rose passed away March 27, 2018, after a courageous, but short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.
Family Message: "Their loved ones know that their reunion was a joyous one."
Survived By: Her husband, David; their daughters: Kailee, Kaitlyn and Kaisha; her stepchildren: Elle (Kasey) Rasmussen, Nicholas (Stephanie) Rose, and Mason (Randi) Rose; her brother, Michael (RaeVone) Butterfield; her sister, Valerie Stermer; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Doyle and Linelle Rose; and her eight grandchildren.
