Cabell Earl Rose, 58, of Wingina departed his life on Monday, March 26, 2018, at his residence in Wingina. He was affectionately known as "Ollie" to his nieces and nephews. Born on June 24, 1959, to the late Charles A. Rose and Agnes O. Rose.

Earl, as everyone knew him, was an avid fisherman and hunter and he loved to do both sports until he fell in 2009. He spent his life in the service of his family both immediate and extended. The example he demonstrated for his family members and the friendships he established are continually magnified because it has laid the path for so many that followed him.

His memory will carry on with his five sisters, Charlotte Woodson of Shipman, Agnes Jackson (Bernard) of Lovingston, Emma Wilke (Robert) of Stanardsville, the Rev. Judy Wright (Vasco) of Wingina, and Diane Johnson of Williamsburg; nine brothers, Charles Rose (Mary) of Buckingham, George Rose (Minnie) of Scottsville, Raymond Rose, Percy Rose, Ray Rose (Alma), Thomas Rose, Haywood Rose, and Roger Rose, all of Wingina; and a step-brother, James Bolden of Dale City. Earl loved his nieces and nephews as he had no children, but his nephews, Charles Miles held a special bond with him along with his kids, Shamera, Edward and Charese Miles. Earl had 31 nieces and nephews, 56 great nieces and nephews, 17 great-great nieces and nephews, as well as a host of cousins, friends and family.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston with the Rev. Judy Wright officiating. A viewing will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday. The family will be receiving friends and family at the residence, 3240 James River Road, Wingina, VA 24599.

We the family wishes to thank everyone for all calls, flowers, cards and well wishes in our time of need.

Don't cry for me because I'm home now.
Don't cry for me I fly high with wings of gold
Don't cry for me my spirit lives on
Don't cry for me I will see you someday
Please don't cry for me because my love lives on in my family. Don't cry for me.

Arrangement by Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel of Lovingston (434-263-4097).
