Our devoted, dedicated and loving mother was born on October 13, 1924, in Charleston, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles Henry Bolden and Isabelle Jordon Bolden.
Besides her parents, her husband and our father, Charles Andrew Rose, preceded her in death along with three brothers and two sisters.
Affectionally know as Granny to her family, she was a homemaker and loved her family very much.
She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Charlotte Woodson of Shipman, Agnes Jackson and husband, Bernard, of Lovingston, Emma Wilks of Stanardsville, the Reverend Judy Wright and husband, Vasco, of Wingina and Diane Johnson of Williamsburg; ten sons, Charles A. Rose Jr. and wife, Mary, George M. Rose and wife, Minnie, of Scottsville, Raymond Rose, Percy Rose, Ray Rose and wife, Alma, Thomas Rose, Roger Rose and wife, Shirley, Haywood Rose and Cabell Rose, all of Wingina, and James Bowling and wife, Linda, of Dale City; 29 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston with the Reverend Joseph Jones officiating. Interment will be at held the Saint Hebron Baptist Church cemetery in Wingina.
We the family wishes to thank the ER Department and staff of 3 East of the University of Virginia Medical Center and the Wintergreen Rescue Squad for taking such special care of our mother and grandmom.
The family wake will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Calvary Baptist Church.
