Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Msgr. Russell Harrington, pastor of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Musical selections will be provided by Mary Brasseaux, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ.
Mr. Stelly was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. A devout Catholic, Mr. Stelly was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Bonne Mort Society. He was a veteran of the United States Military having proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Upon his discharge from the military, he became an agricultural farmer and later became a construction carpenter in 1956, all while continuing farming, until his retirement. He was a very loving father and grandfather who saw five generations.
Survivors include one daughter, Cecile Stelly (Ron Keddy); two sons, Donald Stelly and his wife, Shirlene, and Randy Stelly and his wife, Jeanette, all of Carencro; nine grandchildren, Kim Wiltz and his wife, Cheryl, Tina Wiltz Clause and her husband, Keith, Danny Wiltz, Steve Wiltz and his wife, Denaye, Sarah Stelly, Dana Stelly, Jason Stelly and his wife, Renee, Mark Stelly and Carl Stelly and his wife, Laura; fifteen great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beulah Stelly; his parents, Frank Stelly and the former Maddie Guidroz; one brother, Sam Stelly; and two sisters, Maude Guidry and Lula Domingue.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until service time on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Kim Wiltz, Danny Wiltz, Steve Wiltz, Jason Stelly, Mark Stelly and Carl Stelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Clause and Kodie Stelly.
