Obituary from Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Shreveport LA:

Ann Tench Reeks passed on to her new residence in heaven on Saturday, March 24, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church followed by a reception in the parlor. The Rev. Paul D. Martin will officiate, assisted by The Rev. Sean Duncan. Interment will be at 1:45 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave.

Ann was born to Thelma C. Tench and E. Arnold Tench on September 26, 1926 in Tampa, Florida. She was a long-time resident of Shreveport, attending C.E. Byrd High School and graduating from Centenary College of Louisiana, where she was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity.

She married Joseph Ernest Reeks in 1947 and together they raised three daughters. She was a devoted member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she served faithfully on the Altar Guild, the Vestry, and as a Gift Shop Volunteer. Ann was an Art teacher in both Caddo and Bossier parishes for many years where she inspired many young artists. She was a member of ADK Teacher Sorority.

MeMaw was indeed a "work of ART" herself. She was the original out-of-the-box thinker, creating and inventing even in her final days. Her motto was, "there's nothing that a roll of tape and ingenuity can't fix". Her unique personality and generous nature endeared her to many. Ann considered the friends of her family members as part of her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Ernest Reeks, brother, E.A. "Buddy" Tench, infant son Carnes, and grandson, Scott Leyton Rials.

Ann is survived by her daughters, JoAnn R. Rose and husband Chris, Rebecca R. Rials and husband Guy, and Beverly R. Casso and husband Bernie; grandchildren, Mandy Metrejean and husband Chris, Missy Heidelberg and husband Mack, Andrew Rose and wife Julie, Stephanie Rials and fiancé Nathan, Stephen Couvillon, Kelsey Couvillon, David Casso and wife Stephanie, and Emily Casso; great-grandchildren, Emily, Will, Caroline, Madison, Alex, Charlotte, Tyler, John David, and Sarah.

Honoring Ann as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Andrew Rose, Stephen Couvillon, Chris Metrejean, Mack Heidelberg, David Casso, and Nathan Hoobler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Day School Scholarship fund or to St. Paul's Episcopal Church 275 Southfield Rd. Shreveport, LA 71105.
