Richard A. "Rich" Bernard, age 59, a resident of Plainfield, IL for seven years, formerly of Burbank, Cicero and Justice, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at his home. He was born on February 28, 1959 in Chicago. Beloved son of the late Richard F. and Patricia Ann (nee Bartos) Bernard, loving brother of Gerald S. "Jerry" (Kathleen) Bernard of Plainfield, adored uncle of Kevin Michael Bernard and friend of many.

Rich grew up in Burbank, was a 1977 graduate of Reavis High School and served in the U.S. Army stationed in Fort Worth, TX from 1977-1980. He was employed for many years with Wonder Bread Bakery, Hodgkins, IL and later worked at Nestle, Franklin Park, IL. Rich was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Rich enjoyed boating and fishing.

Services were private. Rich will rejoin his beloved parents, Richard and Patricia, at a future date in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
