William B. Haislup married Ruth Cordray May 28, 1840, in Muskingom Co., Ohio. They came to Indiana in the 1850s, living first in Brown Co., then western Bartholomew Co., and finally, in the city of Columbus. William farmed most of those years, then worked as a night watchman after moving to town.

William Haislup died in the county poor farm last night at the age of eighty-six years, last Sunday having been his birthday. He had been an inmate of the poor farm for some time and leaves no childen except one son, who lives near South Bethany. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon.
