Margaret Maietta, age 89 of Crown Point, passed away March 16, 2018. She was born to Elmer and Julia Tielkemeier in Rock City, IL. She married Michael Maietta, Jr, who preceded her in death in 2003. Her brother, Delmar and sister, Marion also preceded her in death. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Merrillville where Michael was Pastor for 40 years and Pastor Emeritus at the time of his death. She retired from the Merrillville School Corporation in 1991 after 36 years as a teacher and guidance counselor. Margaret is survived by daughter, Judith Mannix (dec'd Richard) of Bradenton, FL.; nephews, John Richard (Phyllis), Darrell (Barbara) of WI; other nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with Margaret's family on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 10101 Broadway, prior to the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m.
