Services for Mrs. Milla Allen
Funeral services for Mrs. Milla Allen, who died in Denver last week, were conducted from the Lowry Funeral Home yesterday afternoon at 3 p.m., with Rev. J D. Lindley officiating. Mrs. Allen had been staying with her daughter, Mrs. Elva Radcliff, in Denver, this winter. She died last Sunday of adema. The body was brought to Big Timber by the Lowry ambulance.
Music was by Mrs. Ted C. Busha and Mrs. A. Ronald McDonnell who sang "Someday We'll Understand" and "The Old Rugged Cross" accompanied at the organ, Mrs. Mervin Sell.
Pallbearers were Leonard Esp, Harry Flemming, Irvin Miller, Henry Lofgren, Emery Jones, and Jack Crane. Interment was in Mountain View.
Mrs. Allen was born Milla Hudson, December 11, 1876, in Iowa. She married George Allen April 21, 1891. They came to Montana in 1911, locating in Shawmut where Mr. Allen was employed at the Winnecook ranch. Later bought a place in Bridger canyon. They retired in 1947 and moved to Big Timber. Mr. Allen died here August 8, 1948.
Survivors include three daughters Mrs. Elva Radcilff of Denver, Mrs. Pearl Molto and Mrs. Jauana McNeese in California; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Schultz of Kansas City and Mrs. Stellla VanGundy of Bozeman; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. A son preceded her in death last November.
