Margaret Baumgartner, 98, of Strasburg, ND, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Strasburg Care Center.

Margaret was born on May 11, 1919 to Jacob and Elizabeth (Horner) Bauman. She was raised on the family farm north of Strasburg and attended country school. On October 7, 1939 she was united in marriage to Joseph L. Baumgartner at Moorhead, MN and they made their home on a farm west of Strasburg. After seven years they moved to a farm north of Strasburg where they raised their 6 children, Lavern, Joe, Betty, Mary, Marlene and Al. In 1983 they moved into Strasburg.

Margaret and Joe enjoyed playing cards, vacationing, and especially spending time with family and friends. Margaret was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Society. Some of the things she enjoyed were gardening, crocheting, sewing, quilting, and bowling. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; daughter and son-in-law, Lavern and Gene Glass; son-in-law, Jim Barth; 3 grandsons, Deon Schumacher, James John Barth and James L. Barth; and 3 brothers, Pete, Anton and Ben Bauman.
