Leonard E. “Len” Hess, 73, of Stahlstown, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018, in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. He was born on July 8, 1944, in Saltsburg, he was a son of the late Harry L. and Alice M. (Fennel) Hess.
Len lived in the Saltsburg area most of his life. He was employed for 34 years as a postmaster with the United States Postal Service in Saltsburg. Len was a former member of the Sons of Zebedee Lutheran Church in Saltsburg and a member for 30 years of the Federation of Sportsmen Club. During this time, he was a state president for two years and a member of the Hall of Fame. Len also was a member of the Pennsylvania Wildlife Federation, and served as chairman of the board for three years; a board member at Conemaugh Valley Conservancy; and a member of the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Latrobe.vice in Saltsburg.
