Herman “Lee” Sanders of Westbrookville, NY, a retired supervising foreman for Ford Motor Co. in Mahwah, NJ and a long time area resident died Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 86.
The son of the late Herman E. and S. Ferna Gillespie Sanders, he was born October 19, 1931 in Pontiac, MI.
Lee proudly served Our Country in the US Air Force; he had been a member and former deacon at the Calvary Bible Church in Port Jervis, NY; and he enjoyed anything with airplanes, working on cars and going to car shows. As a man of faith, he enjoyed reading his bible.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce R. Affleck Sanders, at home; one son, David Lee Sanders and his wife Marianne of Liberty, NY; one daughter, Linda Joyce Kistler of Greece, NY; one brother, Carl Sanders and his wife Janet of White Lake, MI; five grandchildren, Christopher Sanders, Dean Kistler III, Michael Sanders, Danielle Kistler, Luke John Sanders; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Ferna Marlowe and Charlotte Sanders; and two brothers, Paul E. Sanders and Fred Sanders.
Visitation will be Friday, March 9, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 9, 2018 at 4 PM in the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY.
