Lafayette – Funeral services will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Raymond Joseph “Paw Paw” Washington, 87, who died March 9, 2018 at his residence.

Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Raymond Washington, a lifelong resident of Lafayette, LA, retired from the State of Louisiana after 25 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Usher Society, an active member of the IHM Knights of Peter Claver Council #76, 3rd and 4th Degrees, member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society/Just Faith, member of the American Legion Post 504, a volunteer for the Health Care Ministry and a veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his two sons, Ronald (Nancy) Washington of Houston, TX and Craig (Cheryl) Washington of Lafayette, LA; two sisters, Mercedes (Morris) St. Julien of Broussard, LA, Diana (Dan) Foster of Broussard, LA; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Anna Mae Washington; his parents, Charlie and Bertha Washington; four brothers, Louis (Florence) Washington, Willie B. (Hazel) Washington, Leroy (Elizabeth) Washington and Mervin Washington.
