She attended high school at Our Lady of Sorrow in Bernalillo, New Mexico. Barbara married Dale Childers July 13, 1957 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She and Dale owned and operated an in-home child care business from the early 80's until Dale's passing in 2009.
Barbara loved to garden and especially enjoyed shopping. We will remember her most as a loving, caring and giving person. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church in Stillwater where she faithfully attended until her health failed her.
She is survived by her two children, Kevin Childers of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Debbie Ward and husband Candler of Ball Ground, Georgia, four grandchildren, Trey Lomax and Billy Lomax, both of Marietta, Georgia and Shelby Childers and Kyle Childers, both of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale of 51 years in 2009, son, Duane Childers in 1979 and her parents.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Funeral services to be held at a later date for her immediate family.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Christian Villa, Renaissance Memory Care and Good Shepherd Hospice for their devotion and excellent care provide to their mother and grandmother over the past few years.
