Diana H. Markulin, 70 from Homer City is now residing in heaven, worshipping the King, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ since March 13, 2018. She was born in Indiana County in 1947 to Clair C. "Bud" Holben and Evelyn (Balls) "Sis" Holben.

She graduated from Laura Lamar High School in 1965 and from Indiana University of Pennsylvania as a social worker, retiring in 1982. Diana loved being a homemaker, a great cook and hostess; loved her backyard rock gardens, caring for her many perennials and flowers until she was unable to due to her many infirmities as a result of rheumatoid arthritis. She loved her patio, birdwatching, crossword puzzles, reading, trips to the Lancaster area and Ocean City yearly and shopping.

All who knew her saw the qualities of grace and faith in action. She battled through many surgeries, throat cancer, skin cancers, and chronic pain over the years, never complaining and able to keep her warm smile and her comforting words that lifted so many.

Diana shared God's love, thought of others more than herself, was a prayer warrior, thoughtful, caring, compassionate and above all God's gift to her was encouragement; all because of her faith and devotion to the Lord who kept her.

Her life was a lesson of faith, courage and discipline. Peace and comfort surround her. Her consistent love of her Lord and her devotion to the Word of God made her a remarkable spiritual example... It's hard to imagine a world without her. We'll all miss her but reflect and celebrate God's gift to us.

She is survived by her best friend and her husband, Richard "Rick". Her caretaker over the years, who only describes her as "wonderful". Also surviving is her sister, Donna (Robert) Deyarmin, a brother-in-law, Thomas S. (Judy) Markulin and sister-in-law, Karen (Randy) Miller; nephews and nieces, Tara Deyarmin (Brian) Elkin, Erica Deyarmin (Eric) Christopher, Erick (Jennifer) Markulin, Robert Markulin, Jayson (Kristin) Markulin, Melissa Dupilka, Adam and Ryan Steele, Jason (Laura) Miller, Donald (Kimberly) Miller, Randy (Andrea) Miller, and Kayla (Patrick) Hutchinson.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother-in-law, John and Sophie Markulin, many uncles and aunts, and recently in 2009, her sister-in-law, Susan Steele and her brother-in-law, John M. Markulin in 2014.

There will be no visitation at Diana's request. Friends may pay their respects from 9AM until time of Memorial Service at 11AM at the Indiana Alliance Church, 2510 Warren Road, where she attended, with the Rev. John Buchmann, officiating. Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
