Ruby Elizabeth Frazier, 83, of Elkton, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Sentara RMH. She was born Oct. 23, 1934, in Rockingham County near Elkton, and was a daughter of the late Ernest Otto and Minnie Frances Leigh Hammer.

She grew up on Naked Creek and attended the Fox Mountain School. She enjoyed cooking and babysitting and was a caregiver for many children over the years including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked at Blue Bell and Elkton Manor home for a number of years.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by brothers, Franklin, Ashby, Gene, Conard and Herman Hammer, and two great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, a daughter, sister, 2 nephews, she raised in the home, nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Pastor Leroy Hulvey officiating. Burial will follow at Koontz Cemetery in Page County.
