Services for Charla Jean Arthur, 52, will be Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Leon Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy May officiating. Interment will be at Leon Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
Born on Aug. 8, 1954, in Gainesville, Texas, to Charles Bennett and Joan M. Monkres Arthur, she died on April 3, 2007, in Ardmore. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jamie Arthur on April 11, 1985, and Jaryl Arthur on Sept. 25, 2004; grandparents, Jim Monkres, Thurman and Hester Pierce Monkres, and Thelma and Russell Arthur.
Raised in Leon, she graduated from Turner High School in 1972, and served as a rural mail carrier in Love and Marshall counties for 15 years. She was a member of Leon Baptist Church. She recently moved to Ardmore.
Survivors include a daughter, Jena Michelle Arthur, Muskogee; a son, Timothy Jay Arthur, Ardmore; her parents, of Plainview; three grandchildren, Jackson Arthur, Ardmore, Jarin and Jacee Arthur, Muskogee; two sisters, Joni Conway and husband, Marvin, Lone Grove, and Janett Salazar, Corinth, Texas; grandmother, Zelma Monkres, Portsmouth, Va.
