Sandra was born on August 10, 1942 in Gainesville, TX to Jesse L. and Elizabeth Ann (King) Pope. She was married to Sherman Allen Pruett, Sr. on February 6, 1959 in Gainesville; he passed away on March 7, 2008. She retired from FEMA after working there for twenty-two years and was the founder of FEMA Survivors. She was a member of Shady Shores Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Sherman Allen Pruett, Jr. (Judy) of Sanger, Steve Pruett (Paula) of Denton; sister, Marjorie Leaser of Irving; grandchildren; Brandon Pruett, Brandi Pruett, Bridget Pruett, Tyler Pruett, Chance Pruett and four-great grandchildren. Sandra was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Mandy Pruett and grandson, Austin Pruett.
A visitation will be from 9:30 AM until service time at 11:00 AM Monday, March 12, 2018 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Rev. Bob Joyce will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Old Shiloh Cemetery, Flower Mound.
In lieu of flowers, Sandra would be honored if you would consider making a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
