Elizabeth Ann (KING) Pope, 94 a resident of Lake Dallas, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Seasons Hospice in Denton. She was born November 15, 1918 in Roanoke, TX to Lee Andrew and Perry Rosella (Heath) King. She graduated from Denton High school in 1937. She was married to Jesse L. (Jess) Pope on July 13, 1937 in Marietta, OK and he passed away on March 14, 1990. She was the oldest member of the Lakeshore Baptist Church of Lake Dallas where she was very active until her illness prevented her from attending. She was employed by Texas Instruments and retired from Victor Equipment Company.
Mrs. Pope is survived by two daughters. Marjorie Leaser of Irving, Sandra Pruett of Corinth, four grandchildren Allen Pruett and wife Judy of Sanger, Steve Pruett and wife Paula of Corinth, David Leaser and wife Pam of Irving, and Lori Leaser of Talihina, OK two step Grandchildren Rick Leaser of Arlington, and Linda Leaser of Stuart, FL Eight Great Grandchildren and Two Great Great Grandchildren, a sister in law Ann Crisp of Gainesville, and brother in law M. G. Pope of San Antonio, Nieces and Nephews, She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons in law, Sherman Pruett, and Dale Leaser, grandson Austin Pruett, Granddaughter in law Amanda Pruett, a sister Meta Harpole , brothers, Charlie King, Guy King, and Otis King.
Visitation will be held at Lake Shore Baptist Church 276 E. Hundley Dr. Lake Dallas, TX on Sunday, December 9, 2012 and a funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, December 10, 2012 at the Church. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery in Flower Mound, TX The family would like to thank the entire staff of Ann's Haven Hospice for their never ending care, love and support. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Lakeshore Baptist church or The American Heart Association or Make a Wish Foundation.
