Howard Rose, age 82, of Richlands, VA passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 in Bristol, TN. He was born April 5, 1935 in Bluefield, WV. He was the son of the late John Howard and Perlie Sisk Rose. He worked at Island Creek Coal Company for 35 years. Mr. Rose enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time at the lake, and time with his dogs and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jennings Rose, Rondall Rose, and Earl Short; two sisters, Georgia Swartz and Ortha Burke.
Mr. Rose is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Maxine "Max" Monk Rose; three daughters, Tracie Rose Rasnake of Bristol, VA, Pamela Rose Bales and husband Kevin of Cedar Bluff, VA, and Angela Bailey of Richlands, VA; one son, Claude Dennis Rose and family of Russell County, VA; seven grandchildren, Christopher Bailey and wife Brittany, Jessica Vickers and husband Charles, Sheena Riffe, Kimberly Foland and husband Daniel, Cody Vandyke and wife Kristy, Trevor Harrison, and Michael Rasnake; ten great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Rose and wife Jackie of Shorts Gap, VA, Buford Rose and wife Jerri of Flint, MI, and Allen Webb of Richlands, VA; three K-9 companions, Bella, Binkie, and BoBo also survive.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Singleton Funeral Service.
