Lori Ann Callahan, age 53, died on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at her home in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 2, 2018 at George Boom Funeral Home & Crematory in Sioux Falls. Her family will be present to greet friends on Thursday at the funeral home for visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Lori Ann Maiwald was born on October 9, 1964 in Sioux Falls, SD to Heinz and Ursula (Gesekus) Maiwald. She was raised and received her education in Sioux Falls graduating from Washington High School in 1982.
Lori was united in marriage with Jimie Callahan on May 12, 1984. From this union Lori was blessed with two sons, Joshua and Benjamin and a daughter Cassandra.
Lori enjoyed shopping, collecting Beanie Babies and dolls, swimming, listening to all types of music, reading and traveling. Above all she loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared her life are her three children: Joshua (Emma) Callahan, Sioux Falls, SD, Benjamin Callahan, Sioux Falls, SD and Cassandra (Justin Oien) Callahan of Perry, IA; three grandchildren: Braiden Oien, Bethany Oien, and Athena Callahan plus a grandson due to be born in July; her mother: Ursula Maiwald, Sioux Falls, SD: siblings: Karin (Peter) Mueller, Black Hawk, SD, Ingrid McCaulley, Sioux Falls, SD, Dieter (Steffanie) Maiwald, Sioux Falls, SD, and Gisela Maiwald, Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law, Linda Maiwald, Mandeville, LA: many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
