Elizabeth (Beth) Harding Marchant passed away on Mothers' Day, May 9, 1999 from the effects of cancer and aging. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her death.

Beth was born on June 1, 1917 in Malad, Idaho, the daughter of Daniel F. and Edith Blackburn Harding. She lived most of her growing-up years in Willard, Utah, and graduated from Box Elder High School. While attending LDS Business College she met David J. Marchant whom she married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 5, 1939. They spent 60 years together building their own home, raising their three children and enjoying their many family camping experiences. Beth has always had a deep love for music and used that talent in serving others. She fulfilled many church callings and served faithfully as the Jr. Sunday School Coordinator for 13 years. She and her devoted husband served as temple ordinance workers in the Jordan River Temple for many years.

Beth is survived by her husband, David J. Marchant; and their children: Elaine (Robert) Leggat, Midvale; David (Shanna), New Jersey; and Bruce (Linda), Murray; 20 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her sister, Helen Jane Lemon; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Harding, Iris Marchant and Nelda Donga. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lewis, Charles, LeGrand and Fenton; and her sisters, Elaine and Melba. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14, at 1 p.m. in the Midvale 4th Ward Chapel, 7825 South Olympus Circle (220 West), Midvale. Viewing will be at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Thursday, May 13, 6-8 p.m. and 11:45-12:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial in the Midvale City Cemetery.
