Michele L. "Micky" Anderson, 66, New Paris, formerly of Altoona, died unexpectedly Monday at UPMC Hospital, Bedford.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Jessie L. (Cowher) Walters and the late Robert R. Walters. She married Ronald C. Anderson.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years; a son, R. Carl Anderson and wife, Dr. Merrilee Anderson, of Portage; a grandson, August Charles Anderson; her mother of Altoona; a brother, Richard R. Moore and wife, Michelle, of Harrisburg; sister-in-law, Audrey L. Anderson of Duncansville; and numerous cousins.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Duncansville, and a member of the Luther League.
She retired as a teacher from the Chestnut Ridge School District after 27 years of service.
Mrs. Anderson was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School and received her M.S. degree in music education from Gettysburg College in 1964.She enjoyed horses.She was a professional photographer and writer for numerous national publications. She was a member of the National Walking Horse and the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Chi Omega.
At the request of the deceased, funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
