MINDEN — Genene Ann Hansen, 80, of Minden died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at Bethany Home in Minden.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with the Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating. Private family burial will be at Minden Cemetery before the services. Craig Funeral Home in Minden
is in charge of the arrangements.
Genene was born on Feb. 26, 1938, in rural Adams County to Louis and Louise (Meyer) Classen. She received her education at Hastings High School.
Genene was united in marriage to Donald A. Hansen on Sept. 13, 1958, in Hastings. The couple made their home in Minden where they raised three children.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, enjoyed quilting and made sure each of her children and grandchildren received a handmade quilt. She also enjoyed baking, having made numerous cookies and pies for various family and church events.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Stephen (Connie) Hansen of Minden, Michael Hansen of Hastings and Michelle Hansen of Minden; four grandchildren, Morganne Pieper, Luke Pieper, Sydney Hansen and Jonas Hansen; one great-grandchild, Spencer Thies; brothers, Bill Classen and Roger Classen; sister, Marilyn Schmidt; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald in 1995; and brothers, Don Classen and Lamoine Classen.
