Lawrence C. Anderson, 88, of Burns went home Feb. 25 to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Lawrence was born July 2, 1929, on the homestead in eastern Laramie County. He graduated from Albin High School and attended college at the University of Wyoming and John Brown University. There, he met his wife-to-be, Joanne Thompson.

For 65-plus years, Lawrence devoted his life to his family, his farm in the north Burns area and serving his community. He served in multiple roles, including lobbyist for the Wyoming School Board Association, board member for Community Action, Laramie County School District 2 board member and Burns Co-op board member, and he received the lifetime achievement award for his work with the Wyoming Republican Party. He served his church as a deacon and trustee.

Lawrence is survived by his children, Mark Anderson and wife Judy, Craig Anderson and wife Gail, and Sharon Anderson; his grandchildren, Jolie Sawyer, Kelly Janes and husband David, Brett Anderson and wife Lori, Ryan Anderson and wife Alli, Jeremy Anderson and wife Rachel, Robert Anderson and Taya Anderson; nine great-grandchildren, Kevin, Danielle and Joseph Sawyer, Hannah, Abby and Olivia Janes, Peyton and Braden Anderson, and Beckham Anderson; brother, Leonard Anderson; and sister, Elaine Kopecky.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Anderson; his parents, Gust and Anna Anderson; brother, Warren Anderson; and sister, Helen Peters.
