Catherine was 85 and lived a full, rich life knowing Jesus and being baptized in Mechums River at age 16.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Micajah Aubrey Hicks and Margaret Smith Hicks; and brother, Micajah Aubrey Hicks, Jr.
Catherine was the beloved mother of daughter, Vicki Angell-Capps and husband, Daniel Capps of Morehead City, N.C.; and son, John Albert Angell, Jr and wife, Katherine Angell of Cocoa, Fla. She had seven granddogs, Chloe and Mason still living.
Catherine graduated from Greenwood High School, Greenwood, Va. and worked at Acme Visible Records. She married John Albert Angell of Charlottesville. Catherine lived in Havelock, N.C. for 42 years prior to moving to Harborview Healthcare & Rehab in Morehead City in 2010. Catherine enjoyed a career in cosmetics including being the supervisor of Cosmetics Department at the Marine Corps Exchange at Cherry Point, N.C. from 1968-1978. She also worked in cosmetics at Belk Department Store in Morehead City in the 1980s. She changed careers becoming a private CNA, caring for many people before retiring in 1998. Catherine loved to travel. Catherine and her daughter visited St. Thomas, VI one summer which has brought many happy memories through the years. She loved visiting her son and his wife in many locations across the country. Her children were her world.
Services will be held at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City, N.C. on Friday, March 2, 2018, at 2 p.m. with family visitation one hour prior to service. There will be a private graveside service at Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern, N.C.
