Jeweler, Master Clock Builder and Inventor. Albert Fischer was an inventor and master clock maker who built hundreds of clocks while living and working in the City of Detroit. He built the clocks that were used on Detroit's Old City Hall tower. On Friday August 11, 1961, two final appeals to save Old City Hall from the wreckers ball failed, signaling the beginning of the end for the 90 year old landmark. Demolition of Old City Hall began at night on August 14, 1961.
