Family stories from two family members are: He worked his way from Arrowstook County, Maine, USA via logging camps.
Note: I've found cousins who also traveled to North Dakota, via logging camps from Arrowstook County, Maine, USA.
Family stories from two living sources say that Frank died crossing the railroad tracks in his buckboard....hard of hearing and did not hear the train coming. Jerry Ouellette, Great Falls, Montana. and Aredean Hedwidge Ouellette(named after her grandmother), Dickenson, North Dakota, told me this same story in 2011.
Actually Jerry Ouellett (his grandson) told me he was suposed to go to town with his grandfather...but he had been bad, (OMG) and wasn't allowed to go to town with his grandfather, said he remembered it well.
That's the life story that I know from 2007-2011 visit.
Marralene Mennis Oullette wife of Rodney Peter Oullette.
Yes, the surname was misspelled several times!!! History prevails, regardless.
Personally from first hand knowledge in Rodney's generation the Oullette name was spelled: Ouellette, Ouellett, Oullette. For various reasons...ask me and I can explain. YUP it happens.
Note: Please don't get hung up on the exact spelling of surnames, and first names. You will be deadended, big time.
Search it out and see what happens.
Names taken by census takers were recorded many different ways...Hearing, spelling, accents, etc etc.
Note: Going way back to Paris, France, Rene Oullett Dit Houellet is considered as one of the original 10 founding fathers of Quebec, Canada in the mid 1600's.
