"Big Daddy" (within the family) died of pneumonia when my mother was only six years of age. Those who knew him, admired his ethical nature. Wade 'read law' and thus practiced law in Taylor, TX.

Wade married J. Anna Bush (also born in Hallettsville). He was raised an Episcopalian and she was raised in her father's Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church. They took a middle ground', joined the Methodist Church, and raised their children as Methodists. Neither attended college but they prized their children receiving college educations.

Wade preferred to provide his clients with legal counsel early as opposed to defending them (sometimes) late. Much of his work was in Georgetown, the seat of Williamson County. Georgetown was more than a short horse ride (before good county roads were created) from Taylor.

Wade and Anna had three children live to adulthood: Helen, Andrew and Anna Wade. Although little Henry died young, his siblings attended SMU and Andrew became an SMU trustee in 1966.
