Ruth Vance was born on October 31, 1920 in Rock Island County, the daughter of Frank "Roy" and Ethel Braucht Vance. On April 24, 1942, Ruth was united in marriage to Lee "Mac" Britton in Muscatine. She was a homemaker. Ruth was also a member of the Musserville United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, holding many offices, and past member of Women of the Moose. She enjoyed attending church and participating in all church activities, gardening, sewing, cooking and visiting with friends.
Ruth will be deeply missed by her children, Nancy Schroud and her husband Michael of Harlingen, TX and Larry Britton and his wife Joan of Muscatine, Iowa; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, one brother Robert Vance and wife Willie Mae of Sun City West, Arizona; and one sister, Mildred Washburn of Strawberry Point, Iowa.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on October 31, 1982, one great granddaughter, Nicole, and two brothers, James and Mort.
