Vera Turner Edge, 89, of Moore, SC, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23, 2018.
Widow of David S. Edge, Jr.; daughter of the late James Francis and Iris Mae Emory Turner.
Member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where she was active in the Ruth Fellowship Sunday School Class and the Joy Club; enjoyed flower gardening and feeding the birds; was an excellent cook and shared her cakes, banana bread and other dishes with family and friends; and was an Atlanta Braves fan.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Edge Johnson (Rev. Harold); son, Danny Edge (Rita); three grandsons, Barry (Kay) and Bradley (Jennifer) Johnson and Zach Richards; granddaughter, Ronica Bibb; two great-grandsons, Will Johnson and Thomas Shaw; great-granddaughter, Amanda Hashem; three great-great granddaughters, Caroline, Molly and Emily Hashem; five sisters, Mrs. Cecil Hughey (Sara), Mrs. Joe Horne (Eleanor), Mrs. Ted Gaines (Mary Louise), Mrs. William Leonard (Elaine) and Mrs. John Mosely (Barbara Cathcart); a son-in-law, Warren Richards (Kim); two sister-in-laws, Pat and Betty Turner ; numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by a daughter, Kathy Edge Richards; a sister, Mrs. Elbert Strong (Ruby); two brothers, James R. Turner, Sr. and John Vester Turner, Sr.
Funeral Services were held at 3:00 PM on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Johnson, Rev. Ted Gaines and Dr. Dale Roach officiating.
The family received friends from 1:30-3:00 pm prior to the service. Interment was in the Church Cemetery.
