Eddie Gilmore Howard II, 60, of Harrisonburg, departed this life on Feb. 22, 2018, at his residence. He was born March 17, 1957, at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska, he was a son of the late Eddie G. and Delores Delrio Carter Howard.

Eddie graduated from Waynesboro High School class of 1976. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and Hawaii. He was a production worker at Holly Farms in Harrisonburg and also worked at Grand Home Furnishings.

Eddie’s passion was singing and he sang in a few gospel groups in the area. He was a baptized believer. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid L.A. Lakers fan.

He is survived by a daughter, two grandchildren, two brothers, a sister, a stepmother, two nieces and three nephews; a special aunt, a special friend, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marilynn Williams.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Minister Alphonso Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Newtown Cemetery.
